Position: Sculpture Assistant

Employment Type: Monday-Friday, 40 Hours/Week - 2 Month Contract (Possibility for extension)

Pay: $25 / Hour

Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard

Company Description:

We are a small, hands-on studio that designs and produces work across sculpture, furniture, and fashion. We develop our own in-house projects as well as provide creative solutions for globally-renowned clients.


Key Responsibilities

This job requires a lot of sanding, finishing and taking sculptures from a raw state to finished while following the direction of the artist. You are expected to be able to work alone and have a strong understanding on how to handle general sculpture materials such as 3D prints, 2-part epoxies, resins, bondo, silicone, plaster, wax, wood, etc.

Assemble & glue-up 3-dimensional works.

Execute all sanding and finishing of sculptures.

Ensure the shop remains organized and tidy.

Assist GB with any additional general workshop needs.

Key Qualifications:

Minimum 1+ year experience working as an assistant in a studio environment or similar.

Proven proficiency working with 3D-printed parts, resin, mold-making, sanding, finishing.

Patience is a virtue. Some of the works take many hours to complete and you may get bored along the way. Staying focused and detail-oriented despite the boredom is important.

Bonus Points (not required)

Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion 360, Blender, or others)

Experience with woodworking and mold-making.
