Position: Sculpture Assistant (Moldmaking & Casting)

Employment Type: Freelance (Project-based)

Pay: $25-$35 per hour depending on experience

Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York

Company Description:

We are a small, hands-on studio that designs and produces work across sculpture, furniture, and fashion. We develop our own in-house projects as well as provide creative solutions for globally-renowned clients.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Gustavo Barroso on in-house and client projects, supporting the production processes

Work independently to design & make molds of various types and materials

Assist in hands-on fabrication of works

Maintain a clean, organized studio environment

Key Qualifications:

1-2 years of mold-making and casting experience

Experience with open-face molds, 2-part molds as well as multi-part molds

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure

Ingenuity and resourcefulness to creatively solve design challenges

Strong time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks

Excellent attention to detail, maintaining high-quality standards in all work

Bonus Points (not required)

Proficiency in CAD software (Fusion 360, Blender, or others)

Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

Understanding of 3D printing and CNC-milling
